' Chirp chirp.' The chirping of birds heralded a new day. The golden sun cast its warmth all around. Sophia looked into the calander excitingly 'It's finally seventeen August MY BRITHDAY!!!!!!!!!' Sophia shouted happily. 'OH! Anyway Mum and Dad are off. No one is going to celebrate my birthday, not even a small little present!' Disheartened, Sophia took a story book and started reading.
'Ding Dong' the door bell rang. Sophia opened the door with curosity. There, she saw a box with her name written on it, right at the door step, but no one was there. She took the box into the house and opened it excitedly. Sophia stood there, mouth hanging open! Right infront of her eyes was what she has always wanted - The Wii Game! It was from her parents.
Sophia set up the machine and began to play. After sometime, she could feel that her stomach was growling. When she looked up, she was shocked that it was already 2 pm and she had forgotten about school! She grabbed her school bag and hurried out of the house to school. By the time she reached the school, the first lesson was already over. Sophia managed to creep into the class without the teacher noticing her. When she opened her bag, she realised that she had forgotten to bring her books and stationery. She was so worried and stared down at herself. To her horror, Sophia realised that she was still wearing her bedroom slipper and was not in her school uniform!
At this time, all the forty pair of eyes were staring at her and some of her classmatea burst into laughter. Sophia was brought to the general office and with great embarrassment, she told her teacher what happened. Her teacher reprimanded her and told her that she should have self-discipline.
Sophia learnt her lesson. From then on, she restricted herself to play the game only during weekend after she finished her homework.
